Healthcare

If you are one of the tens of thousands of Oklahomans who cannot afford health insurance for yourself or your employees, you know that America faces a health care crisis. But a “one-size-fits-all” government takeover of your health care is not the answer. Obama’s plan would lead to you having to wait in line for your health care, just like people do today in countries where the government has taken it over. And unlike waiting to buy a car or even a house, government-enforced waiting on your health care could kill you. You should be able to get the medical treatment you need, when you need it.

Instead of a bureaucratic takeover of health care, we need a balanced, common sense approach that provides assistance to those who truly need it and keeps healthcare patient-centered rather than government-centered for everyone. By using market-based reforms to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse of health care resources, we can bring health care costs down to a manageable level.

“Health care costs are out of control and in crisis. Yet the Democrats’ proposal for a Washington, DC takeover of your health care would put bureaucrats in charge of your health- that’s a far worse crisis. Instead, we should empower doctors and patients to set standards for health care. Ask yourself- would you rather pay what you are paying now for the health care you are getting now, or pay less but have to wait weeks or even months to get the care you now get in days or even hours?”
